New Hampshire Housing Finance Authority was established by the state legislature in 1981 and operates under New Hampshire RSA 204-C. It is an independent, self-sustaining public authority, not a state agency, and does not receive any operating funds from the state. The Authority issues bonds, which are tax-exempt under federal law, to fund many of its programs. The Authority administers a broad range of programs designed to assist low- and moderate-income persons and families with obtaining decent, safe and affordable housing.
